The Truth You Choose

They whispered doubt behind your back,
A chorus cold, a heartless track,
But let them talk—their words are air,
They don’t define the soul you bear.
You are not the names they say,
Nor the shade they cast your way.
Your worth is not a shifting tide—
It lives where quiet truths reside.
Not in applause or cruel disguise,
But in the strength behind your eyes.
You choose the truth you hold inside,
Not one that fear or pride decide.
So build your self-worth, brick by brick,
From truths that rise and notions stick—
That you are light, and love, and fire,
A soul that climbs, that dares aspire.
Let others judge—they often do.
But what matters most is what’s true to you.
Not their gaze, but your own view—
That is the truth that will carry you through.
