The Chains Unbound

The Chains Unbound

Forgiveness is the gentle key,

That sets the weary spirit free.

No longer bound by anger’s weight,

Nor tethered to resentment’s gate.

The chains that clutched so tight, so long,

Once forged by hurt, once built by wrong—

Begin to rust, begin to break,

When grace is chosen for our sake.

Oh, how the soul begins to breathe,

When we let the bitterness leave.

A gust of peace, a tender light,

Dawns softly from the endless night.

To hold a grudge is to drink stone,

A poison sipped when we're alone.

Yet love is water, pure and true,

That heals the heart and makes it new.

So, let the anger drift away,

Like dark clouds at the break of day.

Release, let go—your heart will see,

Forgiveness is the path to be free.
